Dr. Nicholas Beckmann is a postdoctoral researcher in subproject C01 Modelling Heimat(en) in Museums – Die Modellierung von Heimat(en) im Museum – of the CRC 1671 at Universität Heidelberg.
He studied History and German Philology at Universität Potsdam and Freie Universität Berlin from 2013 to 2018. During his master’s degree, he recieved a scholarship from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German National Academic Foundation). From 2019 to 2021, he worked on his interdisciplinary dissertation project with a doctoral scholarship from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
In 2023, his work Nationalgeschichte erzählen was published in the Narratologia series by De Gruyter. During the project period, he was an associate member of the Graduate College 1767 Factual and Fictional Narration at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, and he is also an associate member of the working group of Zentrums für Erzählforschung at Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
