about
Nora Grundtner studied German language and literature, psychology, philosophy and textile craft at Mozarteum and Universität Salzburg. Since then, she has been exploring the relationship between artistic and academic processes. For her doctoral thesis, she examined depictions of body hair in medieval German-language texts, focusing on figures adorned in luxurious furs and those with visible body hair. She is also interested in late medieval inscriptions relating to natural disasters as literary texts.
As part of subproject A03 The Discovery of Home, she is investigating narratives of belonging in German-language texts from the 9th to the 15th century. Through this research, she is exploring where and how phenomena relating to home can be identified, and the extent to which a dynamic model of home can be applied to the analysis of texts.
