Dr. Nikola Mirkovic is a postdoctoral researcher in subproject B03 – The Taste of Home. Food and Surroundings in Bioregionalism and in Rural South East Asia. He received a doctorate from the Freiburg with a dissertation on Heidegger's philosophy of art and its reception, focusing on architectural and music theory. He has taught philosophy at the Universities of Freiburg, Koblenz-Landau, Florianópolis, and Padova, as well as at the Karlsruhe University of Education. He was a member of a German-Chinese research group on "Philosophical Anthropology and Philosophy of Culture" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). He has published articles in German, English, and Russian, he was part of the editorial team of the "International Yearbook for Hermeneutics," and is currently preparing a publication on the "Phenomenology of Proximity and Distance."
