Sascha Rothbart studied Comparative Literature at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt (M.A.) and previously German Language and Literature and Philosophy at Technische Universität Darmstadt (B.A.). After completing his studies, he initially worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institut für Empirische Aesthetik (Department of Language and Literature), where he was involved in a project on prose rhythm. He completed a dissertation on Arthur Rimbaud (Azurschleim. Lyrik und Materie seit Rimbaud) as part of the DFG Research Training Group 2291 “Gegenwart/Literatur” at the university of Bonn. The book was published by Passagen Verlag in Vienna in March 2026. Since October 2024, he has been a postdoctoral researcher in subproject C04 of the Collaborative Research Centre “Heimat(en)”, where he is conducting research on intermedial codes of home from southern France. He is also currently involved with the poetry criticism journal zæsur. poesiekritik.
